Background
The DIO is part of the MOD and responsible for managing, maintaining and reducing the Defence estate and infrastructure.  DIO was undergoing a long-term transformation programme to support this and to make the organisation more customer focused, more commercial, more agile and better performing. With a joint partnership between 3 consultancies, DIO was led by a largely external management team, alongside several senior leaders from a military and civil service background, bringing multiple cultures, skillsets and experience to the DIO transformation.

Brief
The challenge was to build a compelling case for change. As part of the transformation effort, our roles as part of the People function, were to lead Employee Engagement and Organisational Development to drive and release change. The strategy had been developed our role was to implement and embed the strategy.

Solution
We brought the DIO values to life, by building a sense of purpose at the heart of the engagement strategy. We developed a series of conferences as part of leadership development across the senior and wider leadership teams and cascading the core themes and messaging to the broader organisation, through communications events and tactics.
